Bribie Island is a seaside tourist area one hour north of Brisbane (bridge access). There are 15,000 residents, many retired and some disadvantaged. There are two primary schools and one high school. Aboriginal culture is being developed. This Centre has the only large art space in the Shire, which was built as a Bicentennial project in 1998. A Gallery has been added.
