Bendigo Art Gallery
29 Jul 2005
This space is suitable for exhibitions of: Visual Arts, Arts, Decorative Arts/Craft
Bendigo became a thriving community after the discovery of gold in the 1850s. Gold brought enormous wealth to the town and many fine buildings were erected. Bendigo still holds the appeal of a 'gold rush town' with its historical buildings, the Central Deborah Mine Shaft, the Historic Tram Tour, the Chinese Museum and the Joss House. All these pay tribute to the Gold Rush era. Bendigo Easter Fair is an annual attraction bringing approximately 100,000 people to the area.
