Located in the City of Glen Eira the Glen Eira Arts Complex developed in an historic town hall which was refurbished to house a theatrette, auditorium, meeting rooms and art gallery. The centre was opened in 1988, seven kilometres from the General Post Office. Glen Eira has a multi-cultural population but is predominantly, Jewish, English, Polish and Asian. There are a number of local attractions, the Caulfield race track being popular during the yearly November Spring Carnival. Historic places in the area are Rippon Lea and Labassa.
