Objects in Their Place explains what movable heritage is and why it is important, it also provides a list of possible categories, information on documenting and caring for movable heritage, information on relocating/finding a good home, government legislation, applying for a grant and where to get further information.

Our heritage consists of the places and things we want to keep and pass on to future generations. Movable heritage is a term used to define any natural or manufactured object of heritage significance. It does not include archaeological relics found underwater or underground.
