Wyndham Historical Society

Wyndham is the one of the oldest most Northern Towns in WA.

Our Society is a small dedicated group with strong links with the local Shire. We have a band of volunteers "Friends Of Wyndham" who assist in our latest program that links ancestors to Wyndham.

We always welcome new members.

Our collection starts in the mid 1800's with the Kimberley Gold Rush, the susequent development of the Cattle industry, and the building of the Wyndham Meat Works. On display some of our Collection includes local frontier stories:

Forrest River Mission

Kingsford-Smith Landing; first solo flight from England

RFDS Wyndham Base

Atlantis: the German Aviators Survival/ Indigenous rescue.

Koolama Bombed by the Japanese

El Questro: The Mc Micking Story

Our Archives has now setup a Registry to acknowledge all peoples who have made up Wyndham,

collecting stories and photos
