Toowoomba Historical Society Inc

The Society is a research centre, staffed by volunteers. A Reference Library of manuscripts, journals, maps and photographs is available to members & visitors during opening hours. Other activities include a monthly guest speaker and newsletter, regular radio interviews and personnel available for guided tours. Regular displays with a topical theme are featured.

Collections

Written and photographic records of the history and heritage of Toowoomba and its environs is supported by Queensland Post Office directories (fishe); Index of marriages & deaths from local newspapers (fishe); CDs of Qld. Pioneer and Federation Indexes of Births, Deaths and Marriages; newspaper cutting files containing details on significant houses, buildings, personalities and institutions of local government, schools, transport and commerce.
