Noosa Shire Museum
Our premises are the original Noosa Shire Offices and Chambers in Factory Street, Pomona. Council moved to the coast in 1980 and the CHS Inc opened the Museum here in 1985. The museum features extensive local history collections, 10,000 objects, a large photographic collection depicting the history of Noosa Shire and a display of Aboriginal artefacts. In addition to preserving and displaying the heritage of European settlement we are an official Keeping Place for the local indigenous peoples, the Gubbi Gubbi.
Collections

Also held are Noosa Council records dated prior to 1980 and other records such as newspaper collections. - all of which are of considerable assistance in family history research and there are experienced volunteers to assist in this, or any other local, research.
